THE ABI WAIVER PROVIDES NON-MEDICAL HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES THAT ENABLE PEOPLE WITH AN ACQUIRED BRAIN INJURY TO LIVE IN THE COMMUNITY INSTEAD OF INSTITUTIONS AND NURSING HOMES.

Brain Injury is different for each individual, developing an ABI Waiver Program, with services that are specific for the individual needs of each person is done in a "Person Centered", collaborative effort with the survivors and/or conservator, doctors, social worker, clinical staff and others as needed.  There is a wide range of services including, but not limited to:

  • Independent Living Skills Training

  • Pre-vocational Services

  • Supported Employment

  • Companion services

  • Cognitive Behavioral Programs

  • Case Management

Based on individual needs, help may also be available for:

  • Vehicle Modifications

  • Specialized Medical Equipment and Supplies

  • Environmental Accessibility Adaptations

  • Personal Emergency Response Systems

ABI Waiver services can range from a few hours a day, to 24 hours a day, depending on the needs of the individual.
